To more than six hundred years ago, and our ancestors GengDou family heirloom, and literature since the Confucian tradition to the border of wenxin from seed to be rooted in the very edge of town, bud growth, blossom, a few hundred years, here out of the Burmese buddhist Yin Rong, day south a pen li yue note, famous philosopher YiSiQi, heshun, people marvel at the town of spirit, the mouth. The Wenchang Palace and Kuixing Pavilion in Heshun are the testimony of the ancient town's culture and education, but heshun Library is the best embodiment of heshun's humanistic charm.
Heshun is located in the southwest of the Silk Road. As early as the middle of the Ming Dynasty, in order to make a living, the ancestors of Heshun went to Myanmar along the ancient road to do business. For hundreds of years, the way of living of "leaving yi Fang" has made heshun people deeply understand that only culture and education can benefit their descendants.
At the end of Qing Dynasty, western learning was spreading to the east and new thoughts were surging. India, Myanmar and other countries adjacent to Tengchong were in the British colonial period, and many Heshun people lived here, so Heshun was in the lead. In 1905, in the 21st year of the Reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, advanced intellectuals such as alliance members, students studying in Japan, and Chun Fuqing, a native of Heshun, initiated the organization of "Xianxin Society" in Heshun. The purchase of new knowledge books as public books for the masses to borrow, in remote villages, should be said to be the first time in the world.
There are many plaques inscribed by celebrities in the library, of which three are most worthy of mention. The plaque of "Heshun Library" hanging on the lintel of the second door of the museum was inscribed by Mr. Hu Shi, the famous master of Chinese sinology in modern times, leader of the New Culture Movement and former president of Peking University. On the plaque inscribed by Mr. Hu Shi, the words "Cultural Fortress" in white characters on a blue background were inscribed by Mr. Li Yuying, one of the five founding members of the Kuomintang party, who served as the first director of the Palace Museum management Committee and the president of Sino-French University. Upon entering the gate of the library, the "Fountain of people's wisdom" on the stone fence is the title of Mr. Xiong Qinglai, a famous mathematician in China and former president of Yunnan University. The library in a small border town was inscribed by three university presidents and academic leaders, indicating that he Shunren was indeed influential. In addition, gong Zizhi, Wang Yunwu, Qian Weichang, Liao Chengzhi and many other famous scholars have written for Heshun Library.
It is worth mentioning that in the past hundred years, heshun Library has relied on the support of folk forces such as villagers and overseas Chinese for its operation and management, and all its collections of books and utensils have been donated by the public, from its inception and birth to its formal incorporation into the national public library system in 1988.
Hundred years, through the test of blood and fire, heshun library in full before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1934, and returned overseas Chinese ceremony Mr Yoon to assemble radio donated to libraries, and with several local teenagers listen to every night and record carefully, then catch overnight signet newspapers, named "heshun library telecommunications three issue".
If you go back to the Heshun Library on May 8, 1942, you will hear a heavy, sad but powerful speech given by Principal Cunshusheng to the students of Yiqun Middle School at the time of the fall of their home.
In the summer of 1944, when the battle to recover Tengchong county began, the library was the headquarters of the 20th Group Army of The Chinese Expeditionary Army. Commander-in-chief Huo Kuizhang managed the battle to recover Tengchong of the Chinese Expeditionary Army in this place full of books.
Today, after a hundred years of vicissituaries, Heshun Library has become a public library with a collection of more than 110,000 books, and more than 10,000 ancient and rare books. Heshun Library has become a national key cultural relics protection unit, and has won the reputation of "the first in China's rural culture circle". Looking back at the past life of Heshun Library, it is not only a simple library, but also the cradle of heshun spirit. Only when we are in this small world where the new and the old, the modern and the traditional blend together, we can better understand Heshun in the dense fragrance of books.
